Senior Financial Consultant - Turnaround

Job Description

Consultants will provide consulting services, with a highly analytical focus, to clients in variety of industries. Main areas of concentration will include financial modeling and valuation analysis, data management, historic performance analysis, and written communication of findings. Consultants will work under the direction of Senior Managing Directors who manage the various engagements. Consultants will also be responsible for building client relationships, supervising teams and managing projects on client engagements. Other duties include:

  • Identifying key issues threatening client companies experiencing cash flow, management, or operational problems.

  • Creating refined analytical models and reports that convey key issues to management.

  • Developing strategies that quickly maximize cash flow and improve business processes.

  • Leading and directing client management teams regarding implementation of changes.

  • Assisting in preparing written and oral presentations to management, lenders, and other stakeholders.

 

Job Requirements

 

Applicants must have at least 15 years of experience in lending/workouts and/or turnaround situations. The candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects financial and operational analysis. The candidate must demonstrate an in-depth ability to interpret financial date on under-preforming business. Knowledge of restructuring, liquidation and sales of businesses (both in and out of court supervision) would be a plus.

 

Outstanding analytical skills are required – the individual must be able to perform product cost analysis, prepare operational flow charting, develop cash flow forecasting and 13-week cash flows, and complete financial modeling with budget variance analysis. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also necessary. These skills should which include the ability to write business plans, and prepare concise written operational and financial analysis. Successful applicants will be able to work effectively independently and in teams. Other desired characteristics include:

  •  Prior experience working as a consultant for a turnaround management firm is a plus.

  • BS in accounting, finance or business administration.

  • MBA, CPA, CTP, CFA, CFE or CIRA a plus.

  • Excellent PC skills - must be proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook) and be able to easily learn other software programs.

  • Aware of all the core components of strategy and their purpose

  • High level of organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.

  • Detail-oriented with good follow-up skills.

  • Understands and clearly articulates basic and complex business decisions.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • A demonstrable track record of implementing accounting solutions and tying accounting with business decision making for future planning.

 

Travel & Hours of Work

  • Expect to travel up to 80%-100% of time, as most work is performed on-site at client locations nationwide.

  • Must be willing to work significant flexible hours, and be able to travel at short notice.
