Sam Williams is a turnaround professional with over 25 years of business experience dealing with complex financial and operational issues in manufacturing and service industries. As a consultant, Sam has helped maximize stakeholder value for more than 100 financially troubled companies throughout the country. His typical responsibilities include managing engagements, conducting financial analyses, and developing restructuring strategies in difficult situations involving turnarounds, workouts, refinancings, bankruptcies, asset sales, and liquidations.
Sam has experience in numerous industries, including but not limited to, automotive, engineering, oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, heat treatment, steel, scrap metal, motorcycles, energy, energy services, environmental, refining, chemicals, injection molding, paper, retail, wholesale, trucking, railway, giftware, travel, lighting, e-commerce, appraisals, clothing, packaging, signage, consumer products, food services, snack food vending, fast food restaurants, meat packing, document sorting, legal services, ranching, construction subcontracting, petroleum supply, and cable TV advertising.
Sam has served in a variety of roles for clients, including President, Chief Operating Officer, Director of Project Management, and Financial Advisor. One of his areas of expertise is the field of bankruptcy, where he has served as a Financial Advisor for both debtors and creditors in several successful Chapter 11 reorganizations, including a multi-billion dollar conglomerate with over one billion dollars of subordinated debt outstanding.
Prior to consulting, Sam was a Chief Operating Officer for a financially-distressed company with five subsidiaries. He also worked in the United Kingdom in the early 1990s, and traveled to 22 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He began his career as a mechanical engineer for Exxon-Mobil’s Baytown Oil Refinery in Baytown, Texas after the completion of his undergraduate studies.
Sam received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Arkansas.
