Andrew Jarvis is a Senior Managing Director for Focus Management Group. Andrew has a strong financial and executive background and an array of skills, which are highlighted by financial analysis, valuation, credit review, transaction, due diligence, loan restructuring, bankruptcy, management, and negotiation.
Andrew’s expertise also includes executive roles in the Special Assets/Credits Group for various lenders and investors, where he managed distressed and substandard rated commercial loans with the objective of loss mitigation, recovery, loan and capital restructuring and credit relationship analysis.
Prior to joining Focus Management Group, Andrew served as Senior Vice President for the Special Credits Group of Opus Bank. In this role, he oversaw a distressed commercial loan portfolio with typical aggregate exposure in excess of $100 million. Industry exposure in this portfolio included technology, manufacturing, entertainment, healthcare and consulting services. He also successfully resolved numerous distressed credits with excellent results through a variety of outcomes, including note sales, liquidation, and modifications and amendments.
As Vice President for the Special Assets Group for East West Bank and as an Associate/AVP for the Special Assets Department of Union Bank, Andrew managed a large and varied portfolio of distressed and substandard rated commercial loans. In addition to being responsible for collection of principal and interest, Andrew was instrumental in negotiating terms for repayment, bank and regulatory reporting, and portfolio forecasting. Andrew also assisted line lenders as they worked to manage their Special Mention credits.
Prior to working in banking, Andrew worked as a restructuring and turn around consultant assisting in bankruptcies, turnaround situations, and transaction advisory services. Andrew has also provided valuation services and worked with Companies to develop investment and merger and acquisition strategies.
Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Utah and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business.
