Alan L. Weiner
Alan Weiner brings over 30 years of experience as a Financial Executive and Investment Banker to Focus Management Group, where he serves as a Managing Director. Alan has significant experience in providing management leadership to healthcare and real estate companies. His recent engagements include having served as Financial Advisor to the Receiver of a neurological rehabilitation (long-term care) facility, interim-Chief Financial Officer of a medical billing company as it worked its way through financial and operational challenges relating to rapid growth and difficulties arising from a recapitalization of the company in late 2014, and Financial Advisor to the debtor in a Chapter 11 case where he was responsible for managing the sale process through a 363 sale.
Prior to this, he worked as Financial Advisor to the Liquidating Trustee of a company owning and operating apartment complexes (totaling 14,000 apartment units) throughout the southwestern United States with responsibility for the disposition of assets. He has worked with and directed entities ranging from small start-ups to established, publicly owned companies. Additionally, Alan has raised significant private equity funding for various firms and has managed and executed successful turnaround, liquidating, and litigation strategies. While at Focus, he has managed and advised companies operating in and out of bankruptcy.
Alan began his career at Raymond James and spent 15 years as Managing Director of its Investment Banking Department. He departed Raymond James to serve as the Executive Vice President and CFO of a private equity-backed dermatology physician practice management company, where his responsibilities included acquisitions, finance, and accounting.
Alan was Executive Vice President (in charge of finance and accounting), then Co-Chief Executive Officer for Arthur Rutenberg Homes, the country’s largest franchisor of independently owned and operated building companies, for the six years leading up to his joining Focus.
Alan holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and received his BS with High Honors in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Florida. He served on the Board of Auditz, LLC, a healthcare revenue cycle management company, until its successful sale in June 2016, and has served on the Board and as Vice Chairman of the Board of the City of Tampa General Employees’ Pension Fund for the last seven years. Alan is also Immediate Past-President of Congregation Schaarai Zedek.
