Stephen M. Patz is a veteran healthcare professional with proven expertise in providing strategic direction to organizations in an effort to reduce operating costs, increase admissions and ensure growth and profitability. With significant experience in managing teaching hospitals, community hospitals, and investor-owned facilities, Stephen is highly qualified to implement process improvements and improve patient and physician satisfaction and community relations within a healthcare facility.
Stephen has overseen the daily operations, medical staff and Board for several medical centers as President and Chief Executive Officer. As the President and CEO of Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital, a 358-bed hospital affiliated with the University of Chicago, Stephen implemented various new programs within the organization that led to significant increases in admissions and operating margins, as well as reductions in supply costs and expenses.
Stephen also previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Parkway Regional Medical Center, a 382-bed community hospital, where he was responsible for its merger with Golden Glades Medical Center, increasing EBITDA by 33% and census by 32%. He also served in several senior operational and facility management roles for a variety of teaching hospitals in the Northeast and Midwest United States.
Stephen received his Master of Healthcare Administration from Washington University and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
